Dariasirene is a French-British duo formed by singer-songwriter Daria and guitarist Hugo, well-known for their anime covers and pop/electronic songs that blend Japanese and Western influences. Singing in Japanese, English, and French, and recognised for her signature wings, hazel fringe, and ethereal voice, Dariasirene has gained over 150k followers, with several videos surpassing 1M views. Discovering her first manga at age 9, she fell in love with the Japanese culture ever since and went on to create her unique genre, which she calls Electro-Angel music.

Starting as a solo project in November 2018, Dariasirene’s music career took off during the 2020 lockdown when she began posting covers on social media. Later, the project evolved into a duo with the addition of guitarist Hugo. Inspired by artists like YOASOBI, Ado, and Hatsune Miku, Dariasirene now performs internationally at events such as MCM Comic Con, Hyper Japan Festival in England, and Japan Manga Wave in France.

Daria was raised in a musical family and began playing the accordion at a young age. Her love for the stage blossomed when she played the lead role in her school’s production of The Sound of Music, leading her to pursue higher musical studies in London at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) and the University of Westminster.

Daria recently appeared on Japan’s 2nd-biggest television channel to perform a song by YOASOBI on the show ‘有吉弘行のものまね THE ワールド’ (Ariyoshi Hiroiki no Monomane THE World). This marks just the beginning of an exciting journey worthy of an anime!
